Yeah, so a chick flick all the way, Aisha does entertain you. Look of the movie is nice, and if you have ever stayed in Delhi none of these characters and settings are alien to you. You can totally relate to them. When movie starts story seems not to be moving anywhere and end is a little too obvious. But, as it catches up you enjoy being a part of Aisha’s life, watching her every stupidity and by the time movie reaches its end, Aisha is a part of your life. May be a weak story but fabulous screenplay and good performances. And, they have portrayed Delhi upper class junta with great perfection!!
Aisha, is like any other girl, self obsessed self centric b***h!! nah..not b***h. She thinks she is the smartest person around , a lil miss know it all, and like most other girls she is also wrong!! But, this wrong girl looks hot!! and you can over look all her stupidity. After all curves are back (reference only to volkswagon beetle, no other meaning intended). Daughter of a rich father, Aisha has a fabulous hobby of match-making, which she calls a social service!! And, her new project is Shefali, a middle class behenji kinda girl..who has some confusing relation with her. Pinky is her best friend forever (BFF..as they would call it!!), Cyrus Sahukar a.k.a. Randhir is dad’s friends son..not that anyone wants him around. Arjun, he is Aisha’s sister’s husbands brother, neighbor and childhood friend.
From the first scene its obvious that Randhir is hitting on Aisha, though its not obvious to Aisha. She tries to set Shefali up with Randhir…For sometime this triangle flourishes till Randhir’s bubble bursts. While all this was happening, Arjun is happily toiling away with a New Yorker friend and colleague Aarti and Aisha is having a good time with Dhruv !!
Since, guys were in the picture, as usual it was the time for the girl gang to fall apart. And, it starts with Aisha turning down Randhir. On way back from a rafting vacation Pinky finds out about that she shares a common tatste in music..our favourite R.D. Burman with Randhir and wallah !! they are in love. Arjun is playing a nice guy in the background. One who cares for everyone, especially for his little cute dumb friend. He also plays hero to Shefali and as story goes on Aisha seems to be deserted by everyone. Then its time for some introspection and that is when she realizes that how much she is in love with her childhood buddy. There are lots of plots and sub plots in between but nothing that bores you or slows down the pace of story or make it look over the top.
At the end obvious happens. Let me just put the couples together. Pinky-Randhir, Shefali-Shaurabh, Aarti-Dhruv and Aisha-Arjun!!
Verdict: A good watch!! May be not a great story but very well put together.
Rating: 3.5/5 and I wouldn’t mind giving an extra point for Aisha a.k.a. Sonam Kapoor
